Materials

PZAEZ bags combine a rigid 3D-printed structure with textiles and model-specific components.

The main structure is made from PLA, a rigid bioplastic. Some editions are produced in carbon-fibre-infused PLA, which creates a drier, more mineral surface.

Selected components are printed in translucent PLA to create clarity, depth and interaction with light.

Metallic and reflective finishes are visual effects created through the material and colour. These components are 3D-printed in PLA and are not made from solid metal.

Each bag includes a fitted textile lining. The lining is integrated into the interior construction and is not removable. The specific lining material is listed on the individual product page.

Each bag features a zipper closure. Zipper and slider colours vary by model.

Selected models include a natural stone charm. Variations in colour, pattern and surface are natural characteristics of the stone, making each piece individual.

Material Characteristics

PLA is rigid and holds its shape during normal, careful use. The bags may feel solid, but they are not impact-proof or scratch-resistant and should not be handled like metal objects.

Surface appearance varies by edition:

  • Matte finishes emphasise texture and diffuse light
  • Metallic finishes introduce controlled reflectivity
  • Glossy finishes emphasise surface depth and shine
  • Carbon-fibre-infused finishes have a drier, more mineral character
  • Translucent elements interact with light and create internal depth

Each component is built layer by layer. Subtle layer lines, seam marks, small irregularities or tiny material deposits may therefore be visible. These are natural results of the 3D-printing process and form part of the object’s character.

Surface Care

The printed surfaces can be permanently scratched or marked when they come into contact with harder materials.

Take particular care with sculptural handles and with metallic, glossy or reflective finishes, where marks may be more visible. Rings, bracelets, jewellery and other hard or sharp objects can leave permanent marks if they rub against the surface.

Avoid carrying the bag with jewellery that comes into direct contact with the handle. Also keep keys, metal objects and other sharp items away from the exterior.

Small signs of wear may develop through use, particularly on handles and other frequently touched areas. Surface scratches are permanent and cannot normally be polished away or repaired.

Care & Storage

PZAEZ bags are wearable objects and should be handled with care.

Avoid dropping, throwing, crushing, bending or exposing the bag to hard impact. Although the structure is rigid, a strong knock or heavy pressure may cause cracks, fractures or breakage.

Do not place the bag directly on rough or abrasive surfaces.

Avoid prolonged exposure to high heat or strong direct sunlight, as elevated temperatures may soften or change the shape of the PLA. Do not leave the bag close to heaters, on hot surfaces or inside a hot car.

The PLA exterior is water-resistant and can withstand light rain and contact with water. However, the complete bag is not fully waterproof and should not be submerged or left wet for prolonged periods. If it becomes wet, wipe the exterior dry and allow the lining to air-dry naturally.

Clean the exterior gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, alcohol, abrasive cleaning products, rough sponges or brushes.

The lining is fixed and should not be removed, soaked or pulled forcefully. Clean small marks carefully with a slightly damp cloth and allow the lining to dry naturally.

When not in use, store the bag in its supplied dust bag or in another protected space away from pressure, heat, direct sunlight and rough surfaces. Do not place heavy objects on top of it.

Repairs

Most structural components are permanently bonded during assembly and cannot be removed or replaced individually. MELT, BLOOM and WAX are not designed to be disassembled, and a damaged structural component on these models cannot be exchanged separately.

On selected models where the handle is attached with exposed cord, the studio may be able to remove and replace a damaged or heavily worn handle. This is intended as a repair option rather than for regular changes or customisation. The handle should not be removed or replaced by the customer.
